Helen Harder

HARDER: Helen was born to Jacob J. Wiebe and Katharenia Wall on December 1, 1918 into a family with 12 siblings (all deceased). At an early age she moved to Swift Current, SK and was employed as a cook at the Swift Current Union Hospital. She continued to work there until 1960. In 1951 she was married to Abe W. Klassen and became a mother to five year old Barrie. In 1960 she was married to Jacob F. Harder and moved to the Herbert Ferry in the summer and Rush Lake, SK in the winter. In 1976 she moved back to Swift Current. She was proud of her family and enjoyed visiting with them. Helen in predeceased by her first husband Abe W. Klassen in 1958; sons-in-law Louie Hack and William Butts; and two great grandchildren. Helen is survived by her children Marion Hack and her children Richard (Tammy), Dianne (Michael), George and Debbie (David); and Audrey Butts and her children Jamie, Heather, Pattie Boyce, Helen (Bradley) and Barrie; as well as many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Helen is also predeceased by her second husband Jacob F. Harder; her children Edgar, Lil and Syl Chmura, Art (Thelma) and Bob (Dot); and granddaughters Ginny McTaggart, Terry Baumbach and Dawna Askwe. She is survived by her grandchildren Don (Andrea) Chmura, Marg (Don) Denyer, Greg (Lucille) McTaggart, Thelma Harder and her children Rich, Roger, Kevin, Anita (Al) and Monica; Dot Harder and her children Carol (Don), Steve (Jocelyn), Cindy, Betty (Murray) Robertson, Brian (Bethan) Dale and Bryan Baumback (Andrea), as well as many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
