Yvette Cote Obituary

Côté (Roy), Yvette Marguerite age 91 of Vallee Ste. Claire District passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. The funeral mass was held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Swift Current with Father Ferdinand Eusebio and Father Doug Jeffrey officiating. The interment was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Yvette was born on Friday, July 20, 1934, in Cadillac, Saskatchewan, to Laurent and Yvonne (Dubois) Roy. She attended the Vallee Ste. Claire school. On November 26, 1957, Yvette married Victor Côté in Cadillac. Yvette attended nursing school in Regina, Saskatchewan. Once she graduated, she went on to be a nurse in many locations. She worked at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Regina. She also worked in Val Marie for 1 year, a 5-week span in Swift Current, Charles Camselle in Edmonton, Alberta, for about 3 months, in Ponteix at the Ponteix Hospital, and also at the Foyer St. Joseph nursing home in Ponteix.

Yvette was a member of the Catholic Women’s League, numerous healthcare boards, and numerous church boards. She also had many special interests and hobbies. Yvette enjoyed taking care of others no matter where she lived or went. She also liked to play a fair, but competitive game of a cards. If she won too often, she would feel bad. Yvette enjoyed knitting and crocheting for her family and friends, she also liked to organize and scan photos, and history for her family, friends, and community.

Yvette was very kind and super fair. She was honest, and stood for what she believed in. She loved going to mass, and when she couldn’t attend anymore, then she watched it on t.v.

Yvette is survived by her children: Vivian (Norm) Mattson, Allain (Rose) Côté, Diane (Robert) Jahraus, and Ronald (Lisa) Côté; grandchildren: Serena, Danielle, Jacqueline, Frances, John, Elizabeth, Michael, Theresa, Adam, Christine, Jason, Brian, and Alyssa; and 14 great - grandchildren. Yvette was predeceased by her parents Laurent and Yvonne (Dubois) Roy; husband Victor Côté; daughter Carmen Côté; brother Fernand Roy; grandparents: Henri – Pierre and Rose Anna (Duranleau) Roy, Jean and Marguerite (Segeat) Dubois.
