It is with loving hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of William “Bill” McKenzie at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on January 8, 2025, at the age of 94 years. Bill leaves behind his daughters, Mary and Margaret (David), and four grandchildren, Anne, Reid (Paige), Leigh (Charlie), and Tom. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Angele, and many nieces and nephews. Bill was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Shirley; his son-in-law, George, and his seven siblings.
Bill was born in September 1930 in Aneroid, Saskatchewan. From a young age, he began farming with his father and in 1956 he began raising purebred Hereford cattle. Bill was an active community member including being reeve of the municipality for several years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and trap shooting. Our family has many happy memories of time spent together at the cabin in Cypress Hills. Bill and Shirley enjoyed many travel adventures across Canada and the USA during their retirement.
