Wayne was born in Elrose, Saskatchewan, on August 29, 1951. He attended school in Kyle and Sanctuary, Saskatchewan, and also spent two years in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, broadening his early experiences.

Later, on September 20, 1975, he and Mary Woodrow were married in Kyle, Saskatchewan, beginning a new chapter as husband and wife.

Wayne was a regular attendee at Rogue Cruisers car events. He enjoyed restoring classic cars; some of the cars he had restored were a 1967 Mustang, a 1964 Ford Galaxie XT500, Monarch, and a Richileau.
He enjoyed attending car shows, the best being when he took his 1957 Mercury with Mary and their dear friends, the Ghiglione’s, to Spokane, Washington.
Wayne enjoyed travelling through Europe; many trips were made to Scotland to see daughter Christina and family.  The best fish and chips can be found in Anstruther on the North Sea.
