October 20, 1946 - March 3, 2020
Wayne Garth Kelln, age 73, of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on March 3, 2020.  Wayne was born October 20, 1946 in Bulyea, SK to Paul & Alma Kelln.  He grew up in Indian Head, SK. He was active in hockey, baseball, football, curling, and would skip school to play pool. After graduation from high school, he attended the University of Saskatchewan and received a  Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy.  Upon completion of university, he moved to Regina and was employed at The Met Pharmacy and then Bi-Rite Drugs, where he met his wife, Carol Brillinger.  On March 1, 1969, they were married.  In October of 1976, the family moved to Swift Current and Wayne worked at White Cross Drugs and Bi-Rite Drugs.  He was an avid sports fan.  He was a Swift Current Broncos season ticket holder and was a big Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Blue Jays, and Montreal Canadiens fan.  He helped coach his son's baseball teams and managed the Swift Current Bantam Rotary Raiders.  He retired from work in 1987 due to his health.  At that time, he was at home with the kids until they moved away.  The door at the house was always open for visitors and coffee.  As his health declined, he went into long term care in 2012.  Wayne was predeceased by his father, Paul Kelln.  He is survived by his mother, Alma; his loving wife of 51 years, Carol; daughter Joanna LaDouceur and son Travis (Tarina) Kelln; grandchildren Quin LaDouceur, Mackenzie Kelln, and Reilly Kelln.  The family would like to thank Dr. Hein de Klerk and the staff of The Meadows (house 13) for taking excellent care of Wayne.  There will be no formal funeral service for Wayne, at his request.   Donations in Wayne's name can be made to the Swift Current S.P.C.A.
