Walter Stanley Cisek passed away unexpectedly at his home in Swift Current at the age of 83 on June 12, 2026. Walter was born on August 29, 1943 to parents Mary (nee Hawrysh) and Stanley Cisek. As the third child, he was raised on the family farm in the Glenbain District with his sisters Grace, Marie, Pearl, and Patsy.
Walter remained on the family farm for most of his life, working along side of his mother and father. Walter spent much of his time farming and had a deep appreciation of the landscape. He valued hard work and the rhythm of the seasons, and the quiet satisfaction of being on the land. He also had a great love for country music.
Walter is survived by his sisters: Grace Tinant, Pearl LeBruno, Patsy Dauk; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Mary and Stanley Cisek; his sister Marie Merrick; his brother – in – laws: Richard Dauk, and Edward Tinant; and his infant niece Virginia Merrick.
Walter will be laid to rest at St. Mathias Cemetery near Hodgeville, SK on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome.
