Virginia Judiesch Obituary

Virginia Judiesch's life journey ended peacefully at Willow Creek Manor in Swift Current on April 5, 2022 at the age of 98. Virginia is survived by her four sons, Jim (Marlys), Gary (Les), Doug (Mary), Jack (Colleen) - grandchildren Kent (Kathleen), Brock (Sophia), Jim, Thomas and Brianna - great-grandchildren Chloe, Morgan, Thai and Avery. Mom was predeceased by her husband Fred "Doc" Judiesch and granddaughter Hillary.
Virginia was born and grew up in Windsor, Ontario. She was the youngest child of Orville and Edith Haugh. She was active in athletics and upon completion of high school worked for the Windsor Gas Company. A close-knit family, there were always plenty of laughs when she got together with her sister Shirley and brothers Jack and Fred. Mom and Dad were married in 1946 and after Dad obtained his degree in Veterinary Medicine they moved to Swift Current to set up practice. In the early years Mom often helped "Doc" with small and large animal surgeries and did most of the bookwork. She was a life-long animal lover, especially dogs.
Mom was a sports enthusiast her entire life. The Swift Current Broncos (40+ years a season ticket holder), Toronto Maple Leafs and Saskatchewan Roughriders were her teams. When it came to charities she was generous to a fault.  Mom sponsored children around the world through World Vision for 35 years. She was a long time member of First United Church.
Mom did an admirable job raising her four sons, we were so fortunate to have her as our mother. She was kind, supportive, quick to laugh and could still put a tight spiral on a football pass well into her 80's. She loved her family dearly and cherished her friends - she will be deeply missed. A life well lived!
The family would like to thank the staff at Willow Creek Manor for the care and attention you gave Mom. Your efforts were greatly appreciated.
In lieu of cards and flowers the family asks that you give your pet an extra treat and should the Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup this year - a cheer. A very quiet "yeah" will suffice!
A Celebration of Life will be held July 22nd starting at 2 pm. at the First United Church gymnasium in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. The interment will be private.
