Vickie Brown

Vickie Anne Brown age 57 of Leinan District, Saskatchewan, passed away on October 6, 2022 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. The memorial service will be  held at 2:30 pm on October 16, 2022 from the Eagles Hall in Swift Current with family and friends officiating. The eulogist was Kelly Cummings, ushers were nieces Miranda Brown and Angela Brown. The interment service will be at future date at the Bethel Church Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were all who shared in Vickie's life. Vickie is survived by her father Wilfred Markkula, mother Louise Dixon, spouse Darren Brown, sons David Slinkard and James Slinkard, step-mom Gloria Keller, step-brother Troy Keller, Grandchildren; Avery and Karsyn Williams, Sydnie Bye, Linkyn Slinkard,Ethan Slinkard and Isabelle Slinkard. Brother Ken Markkula and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Vickie was predeceased by her spouse Myles Brown, son Scott Slinkard, Grandparents Victor and Elsa Markkula, Damase (Tom) and Lori-Anne Lacerte. Vickie was born in Outlook, Saskatchewan on October 29, 1964. She attended school at White Bear, Kyle, Swift Current, Delisle and Laura, Saskatchewan. Vickie was employed at numerous establishments as a hostess in the communities. She moved on to be manager at several of the establishments. Her latest employment was as a receiver for Pharmasave in Swift Current. Vickie was a member of the Eagles Club. She played baseball and coached the kid’s team as well. Vickie loved fishing, gardening, hunting and her house plants. One of her favourite pasts times was to just go explore the country side and to visit with her many good friends and family.
