Obituary

Thomas "Albert" Birks; It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Albert on May 18, 2020 at The Meadows in Swift Current.  He was born on June 21, 1954 in Estevan, SK to Roy and Harriet (Taylor) Birks. The family moved to Swift Current when he was very young. After graduation Albert worked for Department of Highways and Sask Power before moving to Wetaskiwin, AB. He worked at GranPac the plastic manufacturing plant. In December of 1996, he had a heart attack that took him out of the work force. In 2009 he moved back to Swift Current to take care of his Mother. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Kershaw Maurchia-Lea McDonald, grandchildren Ian Albert Gudge, Persephone Ann Gudge, Franklin Russell James Gudge, Michael Thomas Roy McDonald, Isabella Mary Lewis Margaret Crosby of Leduc, AB. Sister Anita Lewese Wallace of Portland Oregon, USA, Niece Lowetta Kathleen Perkins, grand Niece Mikala Lewese Perkins of Gresham, Oregon, USA Special friends Rob and Vel Burns of Swift Current and Roy and Trudy Spence of Esterhazy,SK Also many friends in Alberta and Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by his Father Roy Birks February 12, 1992, and his Mother Harriet Lewese (Taylor) Birks September 25, 2010. Albert had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tell jokes and stories. He was also a great car enthusiast.
Special thanks to the staff at Homecare, the Hospital and Clover house for the excellent care he received.
