It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, Mrs. Sharon Dunham. Sharon passed away at the age of 77 on October 26, 2023 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
Sharon was born on January 4, 1946 in Stoughton, Saskatchewan to Ivan and Edna Thring. After finishing high school, Sharon went on to attend nursing school in Regina and graduated in 1966. On the 26th of February in 1966, Sharon married the love of her life, Stan Dunham and they were married for 32 years until he passed in 1998.
Sharon worked as the head nurse of Pediatrics/Maternity for 30 years at the Swift Current Regional Hospital. When Sharon retired she went to work at Nutter’s Health Food Store and Elections Canada. Sharon belonged to the Kinsmen/Kinettes, K 40’s, the Swift Current curling club, Saskatchewan Genealogical Society, Victim Service, Ethics Committee, and many other volunteer groups over the years.
Sharon also had many hobbies and interests. Mom enjoyed curling, genealogy, needlepoint, crochet, puzzling, crosswords and was an avid reader. Mom also enjoyed travelling but most of all she was a very proud grandmother.
Sharon is survived by her children: Jeff Dunham (Christine), Jason Dunham (Michéle Legault), Karen Duval (Trent), her grandchildren: Anne, Jack, Jane, Sawyer, Whitney and Evan; her brothers: Jim Thring, Ron Thring; her sisters: Kathy Schatz (Emil), Mavis James (Cliff), her sister in law: Gloria Thring, and many nieces and nephews. Sharon is predeceased by her husband Stan Dunham; her parents Ivan and Edna Thring; and her brother Larry Thring.
The Celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 1:30 P.M. from the First United Church in Swift Current, Saskatchewan with Reverend Annette Taylor officiating. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to be made to the Swift Current Victim's Services South West, 306-778-4898
