Ross Whitney Obituary

Whitney, Ross Richard Whitney Jr., age 61, of Swift Current, Sk and formerly of Guelph, Ont., passed away April 7, 2020 at his home. A Memorial Service is being planned at Memory Gardens Cemetery, at a later date, when larger group will be permitted. Ross is survived by his spouse Debbie Mathies; his children Angie, Clayton and Mark and also a large circle of grandchildren; his brothers Dennis (Karen) of Guelph, Ont., Gary (Joanne) of Fergus, Ont., and Ron (Bev) of Strathmore, AB.; sister Debbie (Ted) of Calgary, AB. And numerous nieces and nephews. Ross will be dearly missed by his friend J.R. and many others in the Swift Current Area. He was predeceased by his father Ross Whitney Sr.; his mother Mary Whitney and a brother Dale. Ross was born in Guelph, Ont. Om May 4, 1958. He attended Conestoga College. Ross worked at a variety of jobs, such as Auto Salvage, Moving business, landscaping and renovation. His true love of work was in the metal salvage business. Ross enjoyed making sausage and smoking meats, when he lived in Calgary. Riding Bicycle was one of his favorite past time and he logged many miles in the Prairie Provinces. He also did volunteer work at the Salvation Army for many years. He will be sadly missed but remembered by his family and friends.
