Roberta Kathleen Howlett (Duff)
June 21, 1942 – July 1, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Roberta announce her passing, at the age of 83 years, at the Gull Lake Care Home.
Roberta is lovingly survived by her children: Jefferie (Deborah), Jennifer (Floyd), and James; son-in-law Murray; grandchildren: Victoria, Jordan (Dorota), Jessica, Natasha, Britney (Shelton), Gabriella and Ainslee; great-grandchildren: Kaydance, Aria, Tomasz, Lew, Haisley; brother Doug; sister-in-laws: Laurel and Doreen; nieces and nephews: Blaine, Darren, Jodi, Kevin, Chris, Dalainee, Carla, Brandee; as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Roberta was pre-deceased by her husband John; daughter Melodie; parents Charles and Lily; parents-in-law Albert and Dolly; brothers: Robert and Gordon; sister-in-laws: Debbie and Virginia.
Mom's garden was a point of immense pride for her in our younger days. It also served a dual purpose: whenever we misbehaved, we knew our destination was the garden, assigned to weeding duty. Mom’s love for her family was shown in many ways. When there was a family gathering, the table was full of many delicious meals and wonderful conversations. Knitting was Mom's most cherished pastime. Every year, she'd enter countless sweaters and afghans into the local fair, consistently bringing home red ribbons for her amazing creations. And for every holiday, her grandchildren could count on a brand-new, hand-knitted sweater. On those sweltering summer days, she often took the lead in starting a water fight, ensuring everyone got a refreshing cool-down. Once her children were grown, along came the precious grandchildren, and a distinct twinkle always appeared in her eye whenever they visited. Even as the grandchildren started their own families, she remained a constant source of support, always ready to listen and help in any way she could—especially with homemade cookies and treats.
Roberta's family wants to extend our deepest gratitude to Stephanie, as well as all the nurses and care aides at the Gull Lake Care Center.
