Robert Maalerud

It is with deep sadness that the family of Robert (Bob) Maalerud announces his passing on April 7, 2020, at the age of 90. Robert is survived by his loving wife Charlotte, 4 children, 5 step-children, extended family, and sister Evelyn. Robert was predeceased by his wife Marjorie in 1996, an infant daughter, brothers Jim and Scotty, sisters Irene, Kay and Margaret, step son-in-law Barry Beisel and great-grandson Ethan Donaldson Elder. Robert married Marjorie Fox July 7, 1952, and together they had 4 children: Les (Brenda) Maalerud of Kamloops BC, Carl (Dawn) Maalerud of Piapot SK, Garnet Maalerud of Calgary AB, Carol (Keith) Bitschy of Lethbridge AB, along with 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. After the passing of his wife Marjorie, Robert met and married Charlotte Donaldson. To this family union, Robert became a step-father to Gladys Beisel, Robert (Bonnie) Donaldson, Andrew (Lorie) Donaldson, Iris Donaldson, Darren Donaldson and their families. Robert was born July 14, 1929 on the farm at the Maalerud homestead. Robert was a farmer and loved farming the family farm near Whitebear SK. Robert also enjoyed wood working (which he took great pride in), square dancing, gardening, singing and poetry. Robert was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and Kiwanis Club and enjoyed being involved in the community. Robert was a kind, gentle, honest man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
