Biensch, Richard Randal, age 40 years of Abbey, Saskatchewan passed away June 9, 2022. The memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m., June 16, 2022 from Abbey Business Community Centre, with Mike Hammer presiding over the Celebration of Life Ceremony. The soloist was Bobbi Hebron. The eulogist was Mike Hammer. Ushers were Chad Smith and Dustin Sletten. The internment service was held at Abbey Cemetery. The active pallbearers were Ryan Prentice, Don Snell, Dustin Biensch, Frank Callele, Kyle Templeton, and Jody Lussier. Rick was predeceased by his great-grandparents, and uncle Dwain Peregrym. He was born on January 4, 1982 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, and attended school at Marwayne Jubilee School, and the University of Saskatchewan. Rick married Jenn Prentice on July 23, 2011, in Abbey, Saskatchewan. He is survived by his wife Jenn, and children Brooklyn and Caden. Rick is also survived by his parents Randy (Lois) Biensch; parents Dawn (Dwight) L'Heureux; parents Pat and Pinky Prentice; brother Ryan (Brandi) Prentice; sister Tracy (Don) Snell; brother Michael (Diana) Peyson; sister Amanda (Terry) Biensch; brother Dustin Biensch; sister Donica (Nathan) VanNistelrooy; sister Rhandi Lepine; grandparents Roy and Joan Biensch; grandparents Murray and Betty Leach; nieces and nephews: Delaney Prentice, Halyn Prentice, Avery Snell, Dreyton Snell, Kaitlynn Buburuz, Emmie Montoya, Kamryn Biensch, Kadence Biensch, Morgan Boutillier, Haylin VanNistelrooy, Hollie VanNistelrooy. Rick spent many years working for Precision Drilling. He built houses and did a lot of carpentry work before returning to the patch as a Directional Driller, which he continued doing until his passing. Farming was Rick's true passion. He registered his grandfather's rocking "R" brand in 2011 and loved every minute spent on the farm. Rick was an Abbey Legion member, a counsillor for the RM of Miry Creek. Rick was also #27 for the Abbey Eagles Hockey team. He coached Brooklyn's hockey team and volunteered for many other community clubs and events. Rick loved to travel and go fishing. His love of sports kept everyone updated on the latest scores. He enjoyed curling and a good goose hunting trip. Mostly Rick just enjoyed playing with his children. To have met Ricky was to love Ricky.
