FISCHER: Raymond Clarence formerly of Hodgeville, SK passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the Gull Lake Special Care Centre following a lengthy illness. Ray is survived by his wife Eleanor (nee Richards), just having celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary; his children: daughter Joanne (Jim) Sthamann and their daughter Jaime (Jeff) Bailey and their children Morgan, Ethan and Colten, daughter Jacqueline (Cecil) Coward and their children Russell (Sarah) Coward and his children Austin and Morgan and his step-children Cole and Cassie, Nicole (Darren) McClelland and their children Ashley and Hayley, daughter Shirley (David) Wirsche and their children Kimberly (Keene) Savoury and their son Kole, and Timothy (Kristen) Wirsche, son Albert (Jackie) Fischer and their children Michelle (Desmen) Boyd and their children Payton and Gavin, David and (Candice) Fischer and their children Porter, Declan, Emmett and Nate, and Erin (Jeremy) Lacelle and their daughters Rae and Finley. He is also survived by his siblings Elsa Braun, Hildegarde Schwartz, Doris Sowa and Felix Fischer; in-laws Willard (Helen) Richards, Howard Richards, Joyce Wiskar, Valerie (Didier) Liogier, Diana Richards and Doug Richards. He is predeceased by his granddaughter Eleanor Teckla Sthamann; great grandson Ryan McClelland; his parents Emil and Anna Fischer; brother Albert; sisters Ella (Art) Barsness and Clara (Norman) Brody; in-laws Anton Braun, Joe Schwartz, Chester Sowa, Cathy Fischer, Dale Richards, Lorna (Bernard) Drake and Fred Wiskar. Ray was born on the farm southwest of Hodgeville on December 11, 1928. He married Eleanor Richards of Vanguard, SK on August 7, 1952. They moved to Swift Current, SK in 2018 and in February 2019 Ray moved to the Gull Lake Special Care Centre where he resided until his passing. Ray farmed all his life, first with his brother Albert until his untimely death in 1951. He then farmed with his brother-in-law Chester Sowa until 1969 when they sold the farm. Farming was still in his blood so he purchased land in the Neidpath area and farmed with his son Albert until he retired. We wish to thank Dr. Clare Kozroski and the staff at the Gull Lake Special Care Centre for the exceptional care he received while living there.
