Rasmie Gader

Rasmie Mohammed Gader, 90 years old, of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, passed away November 29, 2019 at 3:05 a.m. The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on December 3, 2019, at 25 Central Avenue, Swift Current, Saskatchewan. The pallbearers were  Zacharia Salem, Esalm Gader, Zaed Gader, Sami Gader and Brody Gader. Rasmie is survived by her children: Fatima, Mohammed, Ahmid, Naffie, Allie, Sobhie, Saleh, Asim, Foed and Toofa; her grandchildren: Tammy, Ramzal, Shehare, Nagewa, Zacharia, Sonya, Sara, Esalm, Zaed, Lee, Dusty, Michael, Trina, Amil, Sami, Tanya, Holly, Kenya, Keshia, Jordan, Lina and Brody; her great-grandchildren: Katrin, Gabriel, Lila, Jenna, Alesiah, Amelya, Kalya, Ahmed, Mia, Sobey, Reyan, Maleky, Zaid, Adres, Serena, Sophia, Adam, Malek, Scott, Megan, Sam, Ayden, Emery, Alithea, Bromley, Rory, Avran and Ezekiel; her brothers, Ahmed, Hussien and Sobhie; and her sisters, Mariam, Humdie and Sabrie. Rasmie was predeceased by her husband, Hussien Mohammed Gader; her son, Mohammed Gader; her sisters, Fatima, Ishe and Fouzie; her parents, Mohammed and Kamale Ayache; and Toofa's twin brother. Rasmie Gader's life journey. Rasmie Gader was a young mother with two young children (Fatima and Mohammed). She left Beriut, Lebanon, on a long journey to be reunited with her husband who had immigrated to Canada years before in order to make a better life for his family. And so the journey began on June 1, 1956 on a ship and they arrived on June 19th in Halifax, Nova Scotia not knowing a word of English. They took the train to Swift Current, living there for a couple of years and added to their family with a son, Ahmid and daughter, Naffie. They then moved to Vanguard, Saskatchewan and lived in town for a couple years and along came another son, Allie. They moved to a farm and the last of the boys came along: Sobhie, Saleh, Asim, Foed and Toofa. Rasmie lived on the farm for 42 years until she moved back to Swift Current.
