Nettie passed away quietly at the age of 92 surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honour her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Nettie. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities like providing snacks and talking to hospital patients and she found beauty in her gardening. But her happiest moments always came when she was with her family. They meant everything to her and she loved them all dearly!

Nettie was born in the Beechy area and later moved to Swift Current where she began working at the Swift Current Sun newspaper. She then met and married the man of her dreams Jim, and together they ran a successful dairy and farming operation which included a large variety of livestock and a huge family garden.
In 1976, once dairy operations ceased Nettie began to work as a dietary aide at the Swift Current Union Hospital, she was known for her compassion, professionalism and great work ethic as she also continued to run a successful grain farming operation. Nettie retired in 1993.
Upon retirement she enjoyed gardening, travelling, her grandchildren, and her baking and knitting won her many awards from the local summer fair. She loved Elvis Presley, the Broncos, the Riders and the Toronto Blue Jays. She also took pride in maintaining a beautiful home, yard and garden in Waldeck before residing in her condo in Swift Current. The past year she resided at Cypress House.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Salvation Army (PO Box 2061 Swift Current, SK, S9H 4M7) which Nettie generously supported.
