Neil Countryman Obituary

Countryman, Stewart Neil, age 88 years, of Gull Lake Saskatchewan passed away March 1, 2022 at the Gull Lake Special Care Centre.  The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. March 5, 2022 from Knox United Church in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan with Rev. Ken Schrag officiating.  The music was played by Nora Rudolph, Sharon Dahl, and King Gin.  Special music was song by the Colony Choir.  The eulogist was given by Don Christie.  Ushers were Hamid Zanidean, and Nasser Zanidean.  The pallbearers were the gentlemen from the Carmichael and Grassy Hill Colonies.  Interment took place at Gull Lake Cemetery.  Neil is survived by his wife Joyce of 65 years; daughter Kimberley; granddaughter Jessica (Trav); grandson Justice; great grandchildren: Tehyo and Kael, Bruce, Wayne (Shirley), Ida, Jean; brother and sister-in-law Don and Bev Christie, and family; Stella Countryman; extended grandsons Connor and Austen; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents Ellis and Violetta Countryman; mother and father-in-law Mariette and Walter Berreth; daughter Corinne; sisters: Ruth, Velma, Lois, Lila, Eileen, and Shirley; brother Al; brothers-in-law Don Berreth, Elmer and Delmer Wolfater, Wes Purves, Jack Bonnell, John Goldie, Oscar Hammer, and Ken Munsch; brother Glen in infancy and sister-in-laws Babe and Christy Countryman.  Neil was born in the Maple Creek Hospital on October 31, 1933 and attended various rural schools.  Neil married Joyce Berreth on June 28, 1957 at the Piapot United Church.  He was employed with Coulter's Ranch, Sanderson's Ranch, C. P. Rail in the RM of Gull Lake, was a custodian at the Knox United Church and the Gull Lake Post Office, and the town of Gull Lake.  Neil was a member of the I.O.O.F. Gull Lake, and was also a chartered member of Gull Lake Seniors, Antelope Lake Park Board, and a Boy Scout parent group.  In his spare time Neil enjoyed auction sales, stampedes, hunting and wood work.  Donations in Neil's memory may be made to the Gull Lake Ambulance, Box 656, Gull Lake, Saskatchewan S0N 1A0, or to the Gull Lake Special Care Centre Auxiliary, Box 539, Gull Lake, Saskatchewan S0N 1A0, or to the charity of your choice.  Arrangements entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home.
