Myrna Cannon Obituary

Myrna Dorothy (Reynolds) Cannon, 82, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022, at The Meadows in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.  Myrna was born on October 3, 1940, to Raymond and Tressie (Duck) Reynolds of Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. She grew up on the family farm just west of town. After graduating from Foam Lake Composite High School, Myrna attended Normal School in Saskatoon, obtaining her teaching licence. In 1963, she moved to the Herbert area to teach at Donnellyville School. It was there that she met Carl James Henry Cannon. They were married on October 12, 1964. They farmed near Rush Lake, Saskatchewan, raising three children. Myrna always enjoyed being outdoors keeping the yard trimmed or working in the garden and was often seen helping on the farm driving grain truck or chasing cattle. Myrna enjoyed reading, sewing, drawing but most of all dancing with Jim until MS confined her to a wheelchair.  Survived by Jim, her loving husband; children Dale (Marsha), Frank (Caroline), Carla (Brian) Bartlam; grandchildren, Joslin, Chanel (Jim Turnball), Kathryn, Kenneth; brother, Duayne (Mary); sister, Mildred Woode; brother-in-law, David (Norma); sister-in-law, Nancy (Ron) Daviduk; numerous nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by parents, Raymond and Tressie Reynolds; parents-in-law, Chap and Anna Cannon; brother, Garnet Reynolds; brother-in-law, Eric Woode; nephew in infancy Gerald Woode; great newphew Chandler Cannon.  The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Riverview Village Estates with Lay Minister Wendy Gibson officiating.  A private internment service will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery.  In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Myrna’s name to the MS Society of Canada or a charity of your choice.  Arrangements entrusted to Warren’s Funeral Home.
