Melanie Victoria East (Nee: Armstrong) aged 56 of Hazlet, SK, passed away April 18th, 2021 at Cloverhouse in Swift Current, SK. There will be a Celebration of Life to commemorate the lives of Melanie and her daughter Brandi, which will be announced at a later date. Melanie is survived by her sweetie, Glen Bang, her cherished children, Ryan East (Shannon) and Bradley East (Brent), her precious grandchildren, Ashton, Hayden, and Avery Giesbrecht, her much loved brothers and sisters, Gary Armstrong (Chris), Alan "Chum" Armstrong, Violet Kochuiba (Carl), Wesley Armstrong (Audrey), Tammy Dyson (Gerry) and Kevin Armstrong, and Brother-In-Law Archie Bartusek, and 25 Nieces & Nephews. Melanie is predeceased by her parents, Wesley Earl Armstrong and Ruby Stella Armstrong, her daughter, Brandi Lee Giesbrecht, her sisters, Ruth Alsanne Bartusek and Rhonda Jean Boldero and her brother Bradley Frank Armstrong, her grandparents, George Armstrong, Violet Armstrong and George Miner, Lillian Miner. Melanie was born at St. Margaret's Hospital in Biggar, Saskatchewan, and attended school in Biggar as well. Melanie enjoyed her job for six and a half years at Living Sky Casino as a bartender and live games dealer, where she made many friends and put smiles on those she served. Through out her life she was a member of the Brownies Job's Daughters club, Air Cadets, and Dynamics (Kinettes). One of Melanie's greatest loves was cooking, baking, cake decorating, driving the country roads, camping, fishing, and cuddling with her dog Roo. Her favorite things were attending concerts, listening to music, being with family, and going to Bear Camp: Which she was able to do for six consecutive years; doing the cooking for Bear Hunters up by Buffalo Narrows, SK. The family of Melanie East would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Cloverhouse in Swift Current, SK, for their compassion and generosity, as well as mom's homecare team based out of Gull Lake, SK. We would also like those who knew Melanie to remember her for her quick wit, infectious laugh, warm heart, and fighting spirit.
