Mary Anderson

Mary Anderson (formerly Mary Hattum, née Abdallah).  Mary Anderson born April 19, 1928, in Ross, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, where she made her home.

Mary was predeceased by her husbands, Sam Hattum and Robert Anderson, and by her two children Alley Hattum and Rose Werner (Heinz).  She is lovingly remembered and survived by her children: Mohamed Hattum (Fatima), Audrey Ferris (Sam), Sam Hattum Jr. (Valerie), Nessardean Hattum (Rudy), and Charles Hattum; along with 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. 

Born to Lebanese immigrant parents, Mary was the youngest of 14 siblings and the last to pass, closing a remarkable family chapter with grace, dignity, and love.  Mary’s life was marked by generosity and deep devotion to her family.  Her kitchen was always open, her heart always kind, and her presence always comforting.  Her life was a testament to her unwavering strength, boundless compassion, and steadfast faith and support of her family, extended family, and many friends.  Those blessed to know her will remember her cooking, her hospitality, and her open front door that welcomed everyone. 

Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  Her strong faith sustained her throughout her life, and now brings comfort to those she leaves behind, knowing she is reunited and safe in the loving arms of those who went before her. 

May God forever bless you, Mother.  You will be greatly missed.

The graveside service took place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Burial Park in Swift Current, Saskatchewan with Imam Moustafa Yasir Ahmed officiating.
