Marsch May

Gertrude May Marsch (nee Caul) Feb. 13, 1920 - June 26, 2021. With much sadness the family of May Marsch announce her passing on June 26, 2021 at the great age of 101 years in Saskatoon, SK. May is survived by her daughter, Gale and husband, Don Metherell of Vanscoy, SK; her son, Don Marsch, grandson, Curtis Marsch, and great grandson, Dawson Marsch, all of Moncton, NB; brother-in-law, John Marsch and his wife, Margaret of Swift Current, SK; along with many other relatives and friends. May was predeceased by her parents, Gertrude and Lorne Caul, her husband, Gustav A. Marsch and her daughter-in-law, Karen Anne Marsch. Mom was born on Feb. 13, 1920 on the farm in the Cartwright area of Manitoba. She was a premature baby and was in a little shoe box and kept warm on the wood stove's oven door The Spanish Flu was in the area, and on February 15, 1920 her mother passes away from it. Mom was raised by her grandmother, Margaret Caul. Mom was the last one of Lorne Caul's children. There were 4 full brothers and sisters and 8 half brothers and sisters, all raised by her dad in Ontario. Mom had a long and varied life but she was always ready to meet people, or play cards, and visit with family!! Rest in peace, Mom. Donations in memory of May can be made to the Swift Current S.P.C.A.
