MILLER: Marjorie (Marge), age 96 yrs, passed away at the Cypress Regional Hospital on July 15, 2024. Marge is survived by her sons Rick of Swift Current (Deb Linklater) and his two children Jessica and Aaron, Jim of Lethbridge, and Danny (Jeanne Walz) of Calgary and his two children Nicholas and Benjamin. She is survived by her brothers-in-law Herb (Yvonne) Miller of Calgary, Don (Maureen) Miller of Kelowna, and Tom (Judy) Miller of Melbourne, Australia, and sister-in-law Lavina Miller. Marge is predeceased by her husband Elmer, parents John and Mary Dennehy, her bother Johnny Dennehy, sisters Helen Holizki and Marion Milne, sister-in-law Lousie Dennehy and Leone Miller, and brothers-in-law Ray Miller, Morley Miller, Zack Holizki and Jim Milne.
Marge was born in Vanguard, SK, on July 11, 1928. The early part of her life was spent on the family farm with parents John and Mary, and siblings Johnny, Helen, and Marion. Mom got her teaching certificate in Moose Jaw and was teaching there when she met Elmer Miller from Success, SK at a dance at Temple Gardens. They were married four years later in Swift Current in 1951. Elmer worked for five years as a carpenter for MacWilliam's Construction until he opened Miller Brothers New and Used Furniture. Marge and Elmer were active members of the Swift Current Square Dance Club for 25 years.
Mom played the organ at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many decades. She also played the organ in the band “Ladies Choice” with Pat Kruger (trumpet) and Betty Kokott (piano) at various venues in Swift Current for many years. Marge instilled and fostered a love of music in her three children which they really appreciated. Mom loved to play golf and was a member of the Elmwood Golf Club for many decades.
Marge and Elmer took the three boys for many wonderful summer holidays to Waterton, Banff, Yellowstone Park, and North Dakota. For many years each fall Marge and Elmer would make a trip to BC to enjoy the mountains and golf in the fine fall weather.
A viewing was held for Marge on Sunday, July 21 2024 at 7:00 pm at Warren's Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service was held on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 11:00 am from the Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Swift Current, SK with Father Lourdhu officiating. The interment service was held at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK.

A heartfelt gratitude and appreciation are extended on behalf of Marge’s family to the entire staff of the Willow Creek Manor for the care of their mother over the last 3 years.
