Margaret Edith Blanche James (nee Halford) passed away September 16, 2024 just 40 days shy of turning 98 years old. Margaret was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan on October 26, 1926. She was predeceased by parents Margaret and William Halford, Stepmother Alison Halford, and husband Ralph James. Left to mourn are sons Neil and Lloyd; daughter Janice (Bruce) Vogel & granddaughters Alecia and Melanie; sister June Crawford & family and brother Jim Halford & family.
Margaret was raised in the Red Fox Valley south of Indian Head. She completed her teaching certificate and taught in many one-room school houses in southern Saskatchewan. She accepted a position at Dixon School in Swift Current, Saskatchewan where she met and married Ralph James. They settled just South of Waldeck on their home quarter to raise their family. Margaret was an active member of the community in the UCW and was a keen bowler with many high score trophies. Margaret loved to spend time with her family and always had baking ready for company to drop in. Margaret lived at home until she was 91 before moving to the Meadows in Swift Current.
