Margaret Cobbe

Margaret I. Cobbe, age 81 of Swift Current SK, passed away January 29, 2019 at Cypress House. The memorial service was held at 1:30 p.m. on February 15, 2019 at Cypress House, Swift Current. Reader was Bill Millar, special music was provided by Lisa Kornfeld and the eulogy was read by Isabel Millar. The urn bearers were Sherry Day and Sherry Quam. The interment service was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers included all her family and friends. Marg is survived by her sisters-in-law, Dean Cobbe and Hazel Ruzicka, as well as many nephews, nieces and friends. Marg was predeceased by her husband, Ken Cobbe, parents, parents-in-law, and siblings, John Millar and Grace Kane. Marg was born on October 16, 1937 in Rapid City, MB. She attended school at Rapid City and Teacher's College at Brandon. A milestone in her life was being married to Kenneth Cobbe for 53 years, married on July 8, 1957. Marg was employed as a school teacher at Yankee Ridge School, and worked beside Ken as a PFRA pasture manager's wife at Swift Current/Webb PFRA. She was also a photographer at CCA and CPRA rodeos. Marg was very involved in her community, belonging to and volunteering for many organizations. She was a Swift Current Bronco Hockey Hound, and volunteered at the Pioneer Lodge (Alzheimer ward) and at the Care Centre. She was the 1961 Champion Barrel Racer for the Saskatchewan Girls Barrel Racing Association, riding Yankee Joe, and she was a Canadian Cowboys Association Gold Card Member. In her spare time there was much that interested Marg: growing beautiful flowers, loving horses, dogs and cats, and going swimming. She played music with Ken for their own entertainment and for friends. Photography started as a hobby and became a passion as she captured rodeos, brandings, flowers and animals with her camera. Marg loved entertaining and sharing meals with family and friends.
