Lyle Gordon Modien, age 65 of Admiral, passed away in Swift Current. The graveside service was held January 7, 2021 at 2:00 at Klara Cemetery with Pastor Linda Hall officiating. The pallbearers were Mike Cooper, Chris Larson, Clinton Modien, Sheldon Modien, Don Sherwick and Tyler Sherwick.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Sandra; son Clinton (Darling), grandchildren, Aiden, Xander, and Logan; son Sheldon (Deanna), grandchildren, Julia and Aleah; sister, Debbie (Gerald) Fritz; brother, Phil; nieces Loretta and Jessica; and nephews Daryn and Keith.
Lyle was predeceased by his parents, Marion (Tootsie) and Edwin (Eddie) Modien; grandparents, Thora and Art Modien and Hilda and Targe Sordal.
Lyle was born in Shaunavon, Sask. on May 28, 1955. Lyle's early education was at the Admiral school. Lyle went to Siast in Moose Jaw and received his welding certificate in 1974. But farming was his passion and he bought his grandparents' farm in 1975 and began farming with his Dad. In 1977 he married Sandra Moir. Lyle also worked for Goulet Trucking. He was an active farmer until 2015. Everyone knew Lyle had a wealth of knowledge on how to fabricate, weld, build, or repair equipment and would come and "pick his brain." The coffee was put on and the suggestions would begin.
Lyle enjoyed hunting and fishing and he passed these hobbies on to his children and grandchildren. This allowed him to spend many hours doing what he loved with the ones he loved.
He also had a love for riding motorcycles and quads and made sure Clinton, Sheldon, Julia (Cricket), Aleah (Scooter), Aiden (Peanut), Xander (Jethro), and Logan (Gummybear) had something to ride at the farm. He even bought a street legal scooter for Sandra.
