Lydia Bender

BENDER: Lydia passed away at the age of 106 at The Meadows on Sunday, May 9, 2021. The graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from Mount Pleasant Burial Park with Pastor Greg Kiel officiating. Lydia is survived by her daughter Sylvia Unger; grandsons Keith and Craig Unger; great granddaughter Randi Falk; great grandsons Colton, Silas, and Oliver Falk; and great great granddaughter Zoe Falk. She is predeceased by her parents Peter and Katherine Schafer; brothers Peter, Conrad, Theodore, William and Richard; and sisters Katherine, Mary and Bertha. Lydia was born in Winnipeg, MB on a farm in 1915. she attended school in Morris, SK and was united in marriage to William Bender on September 14, 1934 in Morse. She worked at the Elk Horn Hotel in Morse, Rennies Grocery in Herbert, SK and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ladies Lions Club, Herbert Curling Club, St. Paul's Herbert Church, and the Ladies Aid in Herbert.
