Lois Mabbs

Mabbs, Lois Iola (Wiebe) June 16, 1931 - April 12, 2020 passed away in Herbert Hospital on Easter Sunday at the age of 88.  Born in Herbert, Lois married Stan Mabbs on October 5, 1972, moved to Swift Current and returned to Herbert a widow on November 17, 1975.  She was predeceased by her parents, J.K. and Sarah; four sisters: Elsie Piot, Alma Playford, Irene McAllister, Marion Francis; two brothers: Leslie Wiebe and Albert Jans.  Lois is survived by two nieces and two nephews and their children: Verone (Eric) Uhmann, Tanys and Scott, Marion (Murray) Lovelace, Alan Wiebe (Lynda), Alexandre and Katherine, Murray (Audrey) Jans, and Melanie.  With a long career in banking as well as the home care of her parents, Lois was known for her cooking and gardening talents, her love of animals, singing and music, her rollicking laughter, her sense of humour, her amazing vitality and determination, and her passion for both community and church.  She planned family reunions and truly missed her tribe as they spread across the entire Canadian landscape.  Lois was a warm and loyal friend to many and many will miss her open door.  When the current quarantine and restrictions on travel come to a close, Lois's friends and family will gather in her home town to celebrate her life.  Warren & Son Ltd. / Culham-Bowers Funeral Home are entrusted with the arrangements.
