Lily Liala Rognstad:
Lily Rognstad was born in Gouverneur, Saskatchewan on September 11, 1935 and grew up on a farm with her 11 brothers and sisters. Lily attended school at the Orville School and enjoyed playing sports such as ball as well as track and field. Throughout her life, Lily held a number of different jobs, which included working at the City of Swift Current, Dyck Packers, Spar Group and Home Care.
Lily loved spending time with her grandsons, dancing, playing cards and being with her family. She absolutely loved dancing, and she was always ready for a game of cards or crib. Her grandsons, however, were the most important thing to her. They were always on her mind and she loved to hear from them and talk about what they were doing. Her family was very important to her.
Lily was 84 years young at the time of her death and is survived by her son, Shane (Brenda), and grandchildren, Mitchell and Adam Rognstad. She also leaves behind her sister, Bertha (Moe) Hendous, brothers, Jack Hattum, Abe Hattum and Alec Hattum, along with several nieces and nephews. She is going to be missed by everyone. Donations in Lily's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The pallbearers at Lily's graveside service were Shane Rognstad, Mitchell Rognstad, Adam Rognstad, Jack Hattum, Hassen Hendous and Travis Hattum.
