Senft, Lillie (nee Schmidt), age 88, of Swift Current, Sask. passed away November 6, 2020 at Cypress Hills Regional Hospital. The Memorial service will be held at a future date to be announced. Lillie is survived by daughters Cathie (Donald) McLeod, Janet (Mark) Gross, Christine (Randy) Gehl; Grandchildren Kevin McLeod, Vanessa McLeod ('Boy' Jirakorn Sutmai), Nathan Gross, Audra (Jamie) McEwen, Tyson Gehl, Trevor Gehl, Justin Gehl; Great granddaughters 'Zion' Jutamat Sutmai, and Nora, Hannah and Whitney McEwen; sisters Linda Sauder and Alice Leis; sisters-in-law Mildred Beisel and Linda Schmidt, brother-in-law Alen Senft (Elizabeth); and fourteen nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Wilmer L. Senft; parents Christian and Amelie (Steinhauer) Schmidt; parents-in-law Edward and Rebecca (Bader) Senft; brother George Schmidt, brothers-in-law Ronald Sauder, Arnold Leis, Lloyd Beisel; granddaughter Sarah Johnstone. Lillie was born May 1, 1932 at Ernfold, Saskatchewan. She attended school at both Lavender and Ernfold, then acquired her teacher's certificate at Normal School in Moose Jaw, Sk. She taught at Vickers School. Lillie married Wilmer L. Senft April 5, 1953 at Hodgeville, Sk. They farmed in the Hodgeville district until their retirement and move to Swift Current. She was first a member of Zion Lutheran Church Flowing Well, then of St. Olaf's Lutheran Church Swift Current. An avid reader, seamstress and quilter, she also enjoyed painting and photography. She was a gardener and gifted with houseplants. She was so organized and capable. Lillie enjoyed camping trips, and delighted in all the winters spent in Arizona. She enjoyed socializing with family and close friends. She loved her grand and great grandchildren so much. We have lost a kind, thoughtful, quiet and wise soul.
