Liliane Bourlon Obituary

The family of Liliane Bourlon are deeply saddened by her passing on May 28, 2026.

Liliane will be fondly remembered by her children: Doris (Roger Luron), Lucy (Kim) Schindler, Gerry (Doris) Bourlon, Paul (Leona) Bourlon; grandchildren: Angela Luron, Jenny (Andrew) Upshall, Stephanie Schindler (Dan Lafferty), Ian Schindler (Chelsea Palmer), Ericka Bourlon (Sean Lobb), Pamela (Rio) Rindy, Richard Bourlon (Taylor Leugner); great-grandchildren: Noah Upshall, Piper and Jude Lafferty, Clark and Callum Schindler, Sadie and Oliver Lobb, Lillian and Madison Rindy.

She leaves behind her brother Robert Gervais (Denise). Liliane’s memory will live on with sisters-in-law: Simone Gervais, Henriette Bourlon, and Paulette Bourlon; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances.

Liliane was predeceased by her husband Richard Bourlon (1977); her parents, Armand Gervais and Alice (Carignan); her siblings and their spouses: Yvette (Edmund) Zerr, Andre Gervais, Roland Gervais, Marcelle Gervais, Leo Gervais; as well as many other relatives.

Liliane was born November 25, 1933, to Armand Gervais and Alice Carignan of Ponteix.  She received her education at the Convent of 'Notre Dame.

At fifteen, Liliane worked for P. L. Dubourt & Son.  She was employed there for three years.  She then transferred to secretarial work at the Gabriel Hospital in Ponteix until July of 1955.  As a young girl, Liliane was very active in "Les Enfants de Marie" and the Catholic Youth Cru-sade, the C.Y.C.

Richard and Liliane were married on October 27, 1954, and later became proud parents of four children: Doris, Lucy, Gerry, and Paul.

Liliane‘s family life held many happy moments but also some very sad ones.  In September 1976 they found out that her beloved Richard had cancer.  He passed away on May 23, 1977.  After Richard‘s death Liliane was left with her two sons still at home.  She had a section of land to farm, as well as working part time as a secretary.

Liliane remained strong through these difficult times.  She remained active in many community activities.  She was involved with the Parish Church Council for three years.  Liliane was very active in the CWL and Ladies of the Parish.  She was Secretary and President of CWL for many years.  She was employed as secretary of the Ponteix Union Hospital from 1969 to 1992, and at the Foyer St. Joseph from 1986 to 1998.  Liliane was also instrumental at completing the Ponteix history book.

Liliane enjoyed spending time on the farm with Gerry and Doris, or driving herself to Regina or Saskatoon to visit her other children and grandchildren.  She also enjoyed spending time in the summer at Madge Lake.  Alice Gervais, Liliane’s mother, was a big part of her life and Liliane spent many hours with her Mom at the Foyer.

Liliane enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing crib with Leo, canasta with friends, tile rummy, bingo, bowling, spending time outside, and going for walks.  She also loved spending time with her grandchildren whenever she could.  She was truly loved and will be dearly missed.

We would like to thank all the wonderful staff at the Foyer St. Joseph who took such good care of our Mom.  We could not have asked for a better place for our Mom to spend her last years.

A Funeral Mass will be held on June 22, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Notre Dame d’Auvergne Church in Ponteix with Father Jules Adator officiating.  We hope that those who knew Mom can join us.
