Larry A. Sawden, age 83 of Swift Current, passed away on August 16, 2021 at Swift Current. The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on August 20, 2021 at Consul, SK with Elmer Palmer as Master of Ceremonies. The eulogist was Elmer Palmer and the ushers were Jim Richards and Dwaine Stovka. The interment service was held at Consul Cemetery. The pallbearers were Ken Wagner, John Fairweather, Justin Perrault, Morgan Perrault, Ryan Neufeld and Dexter Neufeld, and the honorary pallbearers were Bohdin Guckert, Harold Brodie and Don Kisell. Larry is survived by his children: daughter Doris (Sheldon) Lalonde and children Katherine (Ian) Pain, Ken (Sam) Wagner, Sarah (Ron) Lalonde, Amber (Kael) Lalonde; daughter Clarissa (Jock) Fairweather and children Angie (Dryden) Fairweather, John (Aimee) Fairweather, Ashlea Fairweather; daughter, Wanda (Richard) Perrault and children, Justin (Jessica) Perrault, Morgan (Mandy) Perrault, Whitney (Blaine) Perrault; and daughter, Yvonne (Dave) Neufeld and children Ryan Neufeld, Jocelyn (Trey) Guckert, Dexter (Megan) Neufeld; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; survived by sisters-in-law Velma (Bert) Richards
and Darlene (John) Olmsted, brother-in-law Elmer (Deb) Palmer and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his wife, Rosemary Sawden, father, Louis Sawden, mother, Edna Sawden, uncle, Stanley Johnston, grandfather, Archie Johnston, grandmother, Marion Johnston, father-in-law, Jim Palmer, mother-in-law, Dora Palmer and son-in-law, Bradley Wagner. Larry was born Maple Creek on January 3, 1938, and attended school at Lammermoor. He married Rosemary Palmer on July 8, 1958 at Maple Creek. Throughout his life, Larry worked in many areas: farming, the oil industry, drilling water wells, building moving, cement trucks, setting up grain bins, RM grader operator, PFRA, beef plant and the BC mines. Dad worked at whatever job was available to support his "girls." Dad took over the family farm at the age of 15 upon the passing of his father. He loved auction sales and was a member of the Elk's Club.
