Kevin Jensen Obituary

JENSEN-KEVIN THOMAS: It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kevin Thomas Jensen, age 35 of Webb, Saskatchewan. Kevin, along with father Rick R. Jensen, passed away as result of a fatal farmhouse fire on March 15, 2020. The Jensen family extends their gratitude to the first responders, neighbours and friends who responded to the scene; we are forever grateful for your courage and selflessness. Kevin was born December 4, 1984 in Swift Current, SK. The youngest of three siblings, Kevin was a special member of the Jensen family. Kevin was born with a condition called Fragile X Syndrome, which made him one of the best, sweetest and most caring humans. It was a privilege to know and love him. Kevin went to school in Gull Lake, SK and worked at the Swift Current Sask Abilities Centre and the City of Swift Current Recycling Depot. Kevin lived at the Southwest Homes group home in Swift Current for ten years and made many friends while working and living in Swift Current. In May 2019, he returned to the farm to help father Rick with farming operations. Kevin enjoyed the Saskatchewan Roughriders, bowling, golfing, camping, fishing and travelling. One of his favorite activities was listening to music, bringing his CDs and headphones along wherever he went. An avid country music lover, he greatly enjoyed going to the concerts of his two "favourite country women", Shania Twain and Carrie Underwood. He was thrilled when Shania Twain shook his hand at her concert a few years back in Las Vegas and insisted we send her flowers to thank her. To the many family and friends who knew and loved Kevin, you were sure to be greeted with a smile followed by Kevin asking how you were; he always looked out for his family and friends. He was truly a special light in our family and he will be missed immensely. Kevin is survived by brother Bradley (Adrienne), niece Malia and nephew Finn Jensen of Warman, SK; brother Mark Jensen (Kim Stonehouse) and nephew Caeden and niece Maren Shaw-Jensen of Medicine Hat, AB; uncle Blair (Bea) Jensen; aunt Deleigh (Brent) Rausch; aunt Shelley Jensen (Tom Gibson); uncle Peter (Bev) Ferner; aunt Marlene (Dwayne) Dament; along with many wonderful cousins and special friends. He is predeceased by mother Yvonne Jensen, grandparents Robert Jensen and Shirley Jensen, and grandparents Godfrey and Dorothy Ferner. Due to current concerns with the COVID-19 virus, the Jensen family is tentatively scheduling the memorial service for Kevin and Rick Jensen in late July 2020 in Gull Lake, SK with a private internment service to follow. In memoriam, donations may be made to Southwest Homes. Memorial arrangements are in care of Warren's Funeral Home.
