Kenneth Eugene Leier passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, Saskatchewan at the age of 88 years old. The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. from Memory Gardens Cemetery in Swift Current, SK. The honorary urn bearers were all who shared in Ken’s life.
Ken was born on Sunday, June 12, 1938 in Indian Head, Saskatchewan to Thomas and Agnes Leier. Ken married Marilyn Elaine Feil on Saturday, July 4, 1964 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. He was employed at Bill and Harv’s Service Station, and City of Swift Current Parks Department. Ken retired in 2000.
Ken was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Royal Canadian Legion #56, served on the Riverview Estates Board for Phase 2 Construction in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Ken loved golf and was a member at Chinook Golf Club. He loved gardening and fishing at Duncairn Dam. Ken also made many bird houses and bird feeders. Ken and Marilyn enjoyed many trips to the United States and across Canada with sister and brother – in – law, Margaret and Redge Lopeter.
Ken will be greatly missed by son Eugene Leier; brothers: Edward (Sandra) Leier, Thomas Leier, Adam (Mardell) Leier; and sisters – in – law: Margaret (Redge) Lopeter, and Lillian Feil. He was predeceased by wife Marilyn Elaine Leier, daughter Wanda May Leier, parents Thomas and Agnes Leier, brothers: Gordon (Lois) Leier, Donald (Joanne) Leier, Arthur (Ollie) Leier, George (Irene) Leier, and Russell Leier; sister – in – law Fern Leier.
