Keith Curry Obituary

Keith Malcom Curry of Morse, SK. passed away at the Cypress Regional Hospital Wednesday, December 25th 2019, at the age of 70 years with his children, Jen and Blair at his side. Keith was born in Herbert Hospital, November 27, 1949 to Gordon and Isobel (Murdock) Curry. He attended school in Morse, (which is when he became known to his friends as Malcolm) and grew up on the family farm enjoying the cats, dogs, building snow forts, playing board games, skating on
ponds in the winter, rafting on them in the summer, and Travelling/holidaying in the '60s with his family to Banff, Jasper and Victoria B.C. Somewhere in his early years he developed his fondness of reading, like his parents. He grew up with 14
loving aunts, uncles and therefore many cousin/friends that Keith enjoyed visiting with at many, many family gatherings. He also loved music, and dancing so Keith could be found at most local wedding and teen dances, "shaking a leg." His many friends were a huge part of his life. After Keith left school, he continued farming with his parents. In 1974 he met, and married Karen Purvis of Redvers, SK. Keith and Karen became loving parents to three children, their son Blair, born on October 9th 1975, daughter Gwendolyn, born on November 24th 1976, and daughter Jennifer born on September 20th, 1979. In 1995 Keith left the farm, to work at other jobs including driving trucks at the Chaplin Salt Plant during the winters, the deconstruction of old, and construction of new buildings, with his
neighbour and family friend, Howard Moser. Keith dearly missed Howard after he passed, having worked with him for a few years. Keith could also be counted on to help in the Morse community when he was needed. Eventually he worked on site at the Reed Lake grain terminal, west of Morse, when it was being built, then followed to Lacombe, AB to work at another grain terminal built there. It was
while in Lacombe that his health took a sharp decline due to a ruptured appendix, and he spent weeks in hospital and recovery. He loved fishing, gardening and fires in his backyard. Keith was predeceased by; his father Gordon in 1996, his mother Izzie in 1997, and his precious daughter Gwendolyn in 1984 in a tragic accident. Keith/Malcolm, is survived by his son Blair (Sherri Rhodes) and their two sons Brayden and Dominick, daughter Jennifer (Jaime Gloeckler) and one granddaughter Gweneth Gloeckler, an of Swift Current. Two sisters; Lynn (Finn Andersen) of Regina, Lana (Steve Philp) of Waldeck, Ian/Baz Curry (Michele) of Morse.
