Katherine Schiissler

Katherine Schiissler (Senicar) passed away peacefully on Sept 24th 2022 at the Meadows at age 101. Katherine was born on Nov 7th 1920 on the farm at Cadillac Sask to Anton and Katie Senicar.     In 1923 the family moved 12 miles east of Vanguard. Mom was the 5th of 9 children. In 1941 she married Joe Schiissler in Meyronne and had 2 children Henriette and Ken. They lived on a farm north af Hazenmore for 3 years and then to the Lofta farm for 8 years. They also lived in Regina for 2 years and after that 2 winters in Ingersol Ont while renting the lofta farm. In 1952 dad bought the farm south of Vanguard and built a new house in Vanguard which they moved into in 1954.   Mom and dad enjoyed playing cards and going to dances with friends. The also curled which Mom enjoyed very much. She was a hard worker and Dad lots on the farm.  She was also a CWL member for 66 years and helped out at all church functions.   Mom also enjoyed their trips down south in the winter time and a trip to Germany to meet and visit with her relatives there. Mom then moved to Swift Current in 2001 as Dad was in a home there. In 2016 Mom then moved into the Meadows where she had great care in house 18.  She is predeceased by her parents Anton and Katie Senicar her husband Joe Schiissler in 2002, son in law Dale Fowke in 2017 and her sibling twins Barbara and Elizabeth at infancy Frank (Doris) Senicar Bill (Mary) Senicar Stan (Betty) Senicar Hattie (John) Mertick) Matilda (Stan) Borowski Helen (Albert ) Hornung  Merk Kapell and by her inlaws Pete (Matilda & Ida) Schiissler Lena Csada and son Pete Csada Henry (Ellen) Schiissler Adam Schiissler and Dad’s parents Peter and Pauline Schiissler. Mom is survived by her children Henriette Fowke Ken (Carol) Schiissler Her sister Dolores Kapell and sister in law Carol Schiissler of Calgary.   Grand children Kim (Laurie) Fowke Kathy (Gary) Franks Lynn (Ron) Tessier Craig (Lesilie) Schiissler Rhonda Dennehy plus 12 Grandchildren and 16 Great Great Grandchildren.
