Kasper's son, Kenton, son-in-law Gary and grandsons, Chris, Ryan, Jeff and Lucas were pallbearers. The Knights of Columbus provided the Honour Guard and were the alter servers. Kasper's daughter Michele presented the Life Tribute. Kasper was laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Burial Park, Swift Current, SK. Kasper was born on February 7, 1920 at home on the farm near Dysart, SK. He was the youngest of 7 children. He attended Canterbury School. He apprenticed in the carpentry trade. At age 21 he enlisted in the army serving with the Corps of Royal Canadian Engineers building facilities and roads necessary to support the war effort. He returned in 1945 at the end of the war and continued his carpentry work. Kasper met the love of his life Marion Gregson and the two were married on October 17, 1951. Their family of six children, later grew to include seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Kasper was a kind and loving father and grandfather and was cherished by all. Kasper worked for Beaver Lumber as foreman and supervisor, building lumberyards around the province and then ready-to-move homes once settled in Swift Current. In 1957 he established Waldegger Construction and continued that business until he retired in 1998 at the age of 68. He built many homes in the city and renovated many more. Kasper was a talented and skilled craftsman. As a contractor he did it all from blue prints and designs, to construction of homes and fine finishing work, even building furniture. He was hard working, kind and fair in dealing with customers and treated his employees like family. Kasper was active in his community and parish and always ready to help where needed. He was a Trustee with St. Patrick's School, on the Parish Council at St. Micheal's Church, and a life long member of the Knights of Columbus. Kasper was a faith filled and prayerful man who lived a life of service to others setting a strong example of Christian values. Kasper's most treasured time was with his family. He loved preparing with mom for holiday gatherings, heading out on camping trips and spending time at the cabin at Lac Pelletier. He loved games and cards with the kids, going for boat rides, and in winter ice fishing and snowmobiling at the lake. He loved to make woodwork crafts and show the kids his projects in the garage. He enjoyed gardening and grew the most beautiful flowers. Kasper was a gentle, kind man who was always willing to share his time and talents with others. He was soft spoken and humble and always grateful for his many blessings. He will be missed dearly. The family wishes to thank all those who provided support to dad. A special thanks to the Home Care staff; without your kindness and support, dad would not have been able to remain in his home as was his wish. In Kasper's honour, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Warren's Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
