Johnnie is survived by his sons Jason (Katherine) and their children Alara and Jaina; Christopher (Coralee) and their children Nathan, Natasha and Corissa; two sisters Tina Braun and Anna Dyck; two brothers; Jake (Vera) Wiebe and Harry (Susan) Wiebe; sister-in-law Joanne Janke; step mother-in-law Connie Dale and numerous nieces and nephews. Johnnie was born on February 14, 1944 in Swift Current, Sk. He attended school at Amphion School, north of Springfeld. He married Barbara Dale at Grace United Church in Swift Current in 1967. Johnnie put his work ethic to good use, working at McDaid Motors, and then for the City of Swift Current Fire Department for 30 years. He even worked part time for R. J. Vanlines on his days off. When he retired he continued to work, driving school bus for the Chinook School Division. In amongst all of this, he and mom had a farm, where they grew grain and hay and raised cattle for over 30 years. Johnnie enjoyed farming immensely. Johnnie enjoyed playing fastball with the Firefighters fastball team. He also enjoyed fishing but his favorite thing was camping. Setting up the trailer just about anywhere was fine, but Cypress Hills was his favorite place to be. Campfire toast and hotdogs were always on the menu. He also enjoyed playing cribbage and playing with his five grandchildren, spending time with them in any way they wanted and Ice Cream and Mini Gold were also a favorite. Dad loved his chocolate and licorice, yet he stayed slimmer than all of us! He loved his time with his coffee group gang and enjoyed his visits out until poor health prevented that. Johnnie will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends. In his memory, memorial donations to the Dr. Noble Irwin Health Care Foundation, 2051 Saskatchewan Dr. Swift Current, Sk.
