Jerome Corey

Jerome Courtland Samuel Corey passed away suddenly at the age of 69 on June 18, 2025, at the Cypress Regional Hospital.  At Jerome’s request, a private family service will be held.  The pallbearers are Dawson Corey, Delaine Corey, Dylan Corey, Tyden Johnson, Dieter Gillanders, and Corey Nerada.

Jerome is survived by his wife Shirley; son Dawson (Shanda), grandson Dylan, Tyden, Mayson; son Delaine; sister: Angela (Gale), Marlene (Bayne), Roseanne, Caroline (Grant); and nieces and nephews: Corey, Dieter, Brienna, Brooklyn, Brittania, Alexandra, Declan, Cole, and Brynn.

He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Irene Corey.

Jerome was born in Swift Current on November 16, 1955.  On August 5, 1976 his married the love of his life Shirley Unger.  At the time of his passing, Jerome was the business owner of Corey Custom Work Ltd.

Jerome was a dedicated farmer who took pride in being a farmer, and did a lot of custom farming in the early years.   Over many years of hard work, he built up a land base to farm.  Farming was his life!  He loved shooting gophers, and checking his fields.  He thoroughly enjoyed having coffee with other farmers at Truck Town, and his best friend Conely.

Jerome was a good friend to many people.  He had a smile that lit up the room.  Everyone that knew him, loved him.  His departure has left holes in many people’s lives.  Jerome: we love you, we miss you, your work day is finally done.
