Jennie Theresa Fontaine (nee Grinder) was born on January 22, 1930 at the family farm in Neidpath, Saskatchewan. She attended Neidpath School, Swift Current Collegiate and Business College.
Jennie worked as a stenographer until her marriage to Victor Fontaine. They resided in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan for four years and then briefly in Ponteix, Saskatchewan. In 1955 they moved to Swift Current, Saskatchewan where they raised their family. The past six years of her life were spent in long-term care in Cabri, Saskatchewan.
She is survived by her six children: sons Alan (Cheryl) of Swift Current, Bob (Donna) of Saskatoon, Steven (Johanne) of Saskatoon; her daughters Vicky of Saskatoon, Kathy of Saskatoon, Gail of Cabri; also 13 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Jennie was predeceased by her father, mother, six brothers, and three sisters. She was a long time member of St. Olaf's Lutheran Church and served as Stephen Minister and was a member of council. She enjoyed reading, painting, knitting, and involvement in drama, both writing skits and acting in them.
Her family was her greatest happiness and she loved spending time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren who all have cherished memories of time spent with her.
