We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Jeanne passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025 at the age of 85.
She was predeceased by her parents George and Grace Halladay; her parents-in-law Christian and Emma Heeg; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Cliff Anderson, Bernice and Bud Miller, Bud Heeg, and Art and Betty Lou Heeg.
She is survived by her husband Ron, her children Chris (Crystal), Don, and Jen, and her grandchildren Emma and Gracie. She is also survived by her siblings Harold (Pat) Halladay, Betty Anderson, and Bob (Jeanne) Halladay, her sister-in-law Norma Heeg, and 15 nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was born on November 18, 1940 in Eastend Saskatchewan. She grew up in Consul, Swift Current, and Regina where she graduated high school from Scott Collegiate. She pursued a career in nursing and graduated from the Regina Grey Nuns School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at the University Hospital in Saskatoon. She and Ron met in Saskatoon in 1963 and were married the same year. In 1964, they decided to move to Swift Current and opened a new drug store (which continues to operate today). She continued her nursing career at the Swift Current Union Hospital. Later, she worked as the nurse at Pharmasave. She also co-owned and operated a card and gift store for over 20 years.
Alongside this busy working life, she raised a family of 3 children (and 6 cats). She supported her family by cooking, cleaning, chauffeuring, and in every other way imaginable. She was close with her family and often travelled across Western Canada to visit.
Jeanne loved the welcoming community of Swift Current and it remained her home for the rest of her life. She and Ron made many life-long friends in the community through their business, and their involvement with Beta Sigma Phi, and the Swift Current Shriners. She considered many of these close friends as part of her family and being involved in their lives brought her joy. To many, she was known as Grandma Jeanne.
She enjoyed being active and was known to get up before sunrise to go workout at the gym - even after retirement. Jeanne loved to be fashionable with her clothes and accessories - almost always featuring her favorite color black. She also loved to cook and often was trying out a recipe from a new cookbook. Most of all, she loved to laugh with friends and family.
She had a quiet confidence and strength, and was admired and loved by everyone who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Jeanne’s memory may be made to the Swift Current S.P.C.A.
A service for Jeanne will be held at a later date.
