Jean Troendle Obituary

It is great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Troendle on July 31, 2022 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, SK. Edna Jean Troendle was born on March 26, 1939 the second child to Beatrice and Basil McInnes at the family farm with her grandmother delivering her, how lucky was she to have her grandmother, local nurse deliver her! Jean is survived by her daughter Cindy (Jim) Christensen, granddaughter Tanya (Josh) McMann and their son Finn, grandson Jesse (Lindsay) Christensen, granddaughter Shannon (Nikola) Troendle, granddaughter Chelsie (Kraig) Maley and their son Liam and daughter Aubree Maley, grandson Cole Troendle and his sons Colton and Nevan, granddaughter Brooke (Tyrone) Schappert and their son Enzo; her brother Bryan McInnes; her sisters Mavis (Edward) Taylor and Sharon Hoffmann; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Lawrence in 1980; her son Terrence Troendle in 1996; daughter-in-law Darla Troendle; her parents Basil and Beatrice McInnes; parents-in-law Alfred and Bertha Troendle; brother Delbert McInnes; sisters-in-law Grace (Del), Diane (Bryan) McInnes and Evelyn Troendle; and brothers-in-law Kenneth Troendle and Jerome Hoffmann. Jean and Lawrence were married on February 13, 1958 in Windthorst, SK. From there they began their life farming until a couple of years after Lawrence's death. Two years after their marriage they welcomed their first born son Terrence on August 3, 1959. Cindy followed two years later on July 14, 1961. Jean worked very hard on the family farm doing a lot of the field work, feeding cows and pigs along with a large garden and raising two kids. The family was involved with the Sask. Snowmobile Racing Association for many years where Jean was secretary/treasurer. We met so many people and became one large family. Jean was a fantastic sewer, knitter and crotcheter sewing most of the families clothes and along with wedding and bridesmaid dresses. In the 1980's she became a Nurse's Aid and worked at Kipling Willowdale Lodge until she retired and moved to Swift Current to be closer to family. She then worked at Carlton Cards, Bentley Luggage and Tan Jay/Alia until the age of 81 when the store closed. She enjoyed travelling with family and friends and loved playing cards and bowling with her special friends. Donations in Jean's memory may be made to the Swift Current Women's Safe Shelter P.O.
