Jean Canning

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jean Carol Canning on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, in Herbert, Saskatchewan.  Born on July 21, 1941 in Beechy, Saskatchewan, Jean lived a life filled with compassion and dedication. 

Jean devoted her career to nursing, serving at Beechy and Dinsmore Health Centres where her caring nature and skilled hands brought comfort to many.  She also worked as a Nightingale Nurse in Saskatoon and surrounding areas, extending her reach across communities with professionalism and kindness.

She is lovingly remembered by her son Dave Canning of Swift Current; her daughter Tracey (Graham) Richardson of Beechy; two grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.  Jean’s memory lives on through them and the cherished moments they shared together.  She was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Sigrid Dezell.

Jean embraced life’s simple joys – traveling to new places, spending summers at the lake with family and friends, watching sporting events to support loved ones, playing cards late into the night, and sharing laughter – filled visits.  Her spirited presence made every occasion more joyful.

Jean Carol Canning will be deeply missed by those who knew her.  May her memory continue to bring light and warmth to all she touched.
