Jackie Cave Obituary

In Loving Memory of Jacqueline (Jackie) Elizabeth Cave. May 9, 1962 - October 31, 2025.

Jackie Cave, age 63, of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and fierce devotion to those she held dear.

Jackie was a beloved sister, a cherished aunt, a proud great-aunt and great-great-aunt, and a fiercely loyal friend. She was known not only for her warmth and generosity, but also for her wonderfully stubborn spirit — a trait that made her both formidable and endearing. When Jackie believed in something, she stood her ground, and those who knew her best wouldn’t have had it any other way.

She had a beautiful smile — one that could light up a room and lift the spirits of everyone around her. It was a reflection of the joy, compassion, and strength she carried through life in both challenges and triumphs.

Jackie was a hairdresser for many years, and her creativity and care touched countless lives — both in her craft and in her conversations. Many friendships blossomed in that chair. She loved trips to the Saskatchewan Landing with family and friends for BBQ’s, and she was an avid baseball and hockey fan. One of her favorite times of the year was the Christmas season, and she worked tirelessly to make sure everyone around her was looked after, fed and having fun. One of her last wishes was to see Christmas this year and everybody came together to help make that happen for her with decorations, food, and carolers.

Jackie was well known for being a very crafty person. She loved to pass time by crocheting, and many other crafts. So many received her beautiful handmade gifts that will be forever treasured. She was always particularly proud of her beautiful Afghan blankets and Christmas stockings that each one of those closest to her received and will cherish.

She is survived by her brother Gord (Joanne) Cave, their children Crystal (Scott) Bussiere and Amanda (Ryan) Nash and their children Porter and Amelia, and sister Joanne Cave. Jackie also leaves behind her three special nephews: Mike (Melanie) Johnson and their children Hali (Harrison and Blaire) Johnson, Nelson (Natasha) Johnson, and Hunter (Brandon) Wilson; Gordon Cave; and Ken (Aimee) Johnson and their children Baillie and Sam, and her dog- Tango. She also leaves behind her beloved best friend Kris Johnson and is lovingly remembered by so many others.

Jackie was predeceased by her father Bill Cave, mother Maureen Cave, sister Nancy Cave, great-niece Sydney Johnson, great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many loved and cherished pets.

Her presence was a source of comfort, her humor and her loyalty unshakable. Jackie had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and deeply loved — even if she occasionally insisted on doing things her way.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she brightened with her strength, sass, and soul.

In keeping with Jackie’s wishes, no formal services will be held.

The family and friends would like to thank the staff who so graciously cared for Jackie during her time at Clover House. Each and every one of you went above and beyond to make her comfortable during such a difficult time, and your kindness will never be forgotten.
