James George Sloman, 92, of Swift Current, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully on January 14, 2022. George was the eldest of eight children born to Earl and Chrissie Sloman. He was born at SW 14-8-9, south of Hazenmore Saskatchewan on December 14, 1929. He attended Pinto River and Aneroid Schools. George served in the Army Reserves from 1948-1952. He was a long time Legion member and a member of the Aneroid Masonic Lodge. He farmed with his brother Donald and mother Chrissie in the Aneroid area for many years and was a shareholder at the Red Coat Cattle Feeders. George sold his farm in 2003 and settled in Hazenmore at the Red Coat Inn. At the time of his passing George was residing at Cypress House in Swift Current. George was predeceased by his parents, brother Robert, brother Willie, sister Millie Ballard, brother Donald, sister-in-law Barb, sister-in-law Cec, brother-in-law Harvey Ballard, brother-in-law Nicholas Postey and niece Patricia Postey. George will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Elsie Postey, brother Wes, sister Shirley, sister-in-law Kate, sister-in-law Loren Kay. He will be missed by nephews Terry (Trish), Garnet (Leanne), James (Nicole), Jonathan (Jennifer), Matthew, nieces Rosemary (Dave), Sharie, Alicia (Daniel), Stacy (Evan) and Tina (Dale), several great nieces and nephews, cousins and good friends. A private interment will be held at the Aneroid cemetery on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be held at the Aneroid Hall at 12:15 pm. To Cypress House in Swift Current and all the staff, George's family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation for his wonderful care. Also thanks and gratitude to Lois and Gary Toye for George's amazing care in Hazenmore. The family would also like to thank the many friends and neighbours for their years of friendship, visits and games of crib with George.
