George Carlson Obituary

It is with true sadness that the family of George Carlson of Swift Current and formerly of Niedpath announce his passing. He passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the Cypress Regional Hospital at the age of 86 on May 5, 2022. George is survived by his wife Adele; his children Holly (Roy) Monette, Troy (Kathy) Carlson and Dana (Gene) Bauck; his grandchildren Kyle (Kayla) Monette and their daughter MaKenna, Jessy (Shaun) Kindopp, Kelsey (Andrew) Carlson, Denver Siever and his children Peyton and Nixon, Dorian (Chelsea) Siever and their son Finn, his step grandchildren Kallie Bauck and Brody (Tammy) Bauck and their children Bentley, Courtney and Corbin; his sister Anna (Larry); sisters-in-law Karen, Rose and Idonna; brother-in-law Rick; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Gustav and Agnes; brothers Art, Clarence and Charlie; sister Audrey; parents-in-law Harold and Myrtle Knox; and brother-in-law Bob Hoffman. George was born on the family farm at Scottsburg, SK. He attended Walsh Valley School and was to married Adele Knox on March 28, 1959 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Swift Current. George started working at West End Co-op until he married Adele in 1959 and then worked for his father-in-law Harold for 9 years and then the RM of Iawtonia #136. In 1978 George bought the family farm and resided there until he and Adele retired in Swift Current in 2016. He was a member of the Neidpath School Board and the Hall Board. George enjoyed his farm and his cattle. You could always find him in his shop fixing something whether it be for himself, a neighbor or a family member. He was always working with wood creating many things for his beloved family. He was a hard working man with a great sense of humor and loved to tease. He was a great family man and his joy was his kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Adele and George enjoyed a lot of years going to Bronco games and in the summer taking drives in the countryside. Dad will be missed greatly by all of his family.
