Switzer, Frederick Joseph August 25, 1926 - September 5, 2021. It is with profound sadness to announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Fred is survived by his wife Margaret of sixty-eight years, and two daughters Karen Syme, and Kathy (Ross) Fuchs. Three granddaughters and their families: Coral (Kyle) James, Kolby and Kyler; Shannon (Justin) Lacelle, Spencer and Sebastian; Kelsey (Anthony) Ilosvay, Nathaniel and Everett. At age 95, Dad was the last survivor of the 'Switzer Clan,' having predeceased by three brothers and four sisters. For two years during WW11, dad was stationed in Newfoundland serving in the army. Along with Mom, Dad helped raise his family and farmed in the Hazenmore area. In 1975 they sold the farm and moved to Swift Current, where Dad worked as foreman for the Rural RM of Swift Current. Upon his retirement, Dad kept busy working as Commissionaire for a number of years. We will miss Dad for his well-known sharing of stories from his past and growing up. Donations in Dad's memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #56 - Memorial Donation, 279 1st Ave NE, Swift Current, SK S9H 2B3, or to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are pending, and will be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home.
