Fred Gader Obituary

Fred Gader, 1926 - 2021. In sadness we honour and remember Fred Gader who left us on August 29, 2021 and recall some of the many precious memories that we have of his life of nearly ninety-five years. Fred, the eighth child of eleven, was born to Saleh (Charlie) and Shrefey Gader on the farm at McMahon, SK on December 5, 1926. On December 2, 1950, Fred married Fatima (Faye) Juma in Stanley, North Dakota. They had five children - Gary, Diana, Lori, Larry and Carey. Over the years the family expanded to include grandchildren Cara, Camey, Garet, Lyndon, Lyndsay, Richelle, Morgan and Haley; grampa's love was constant. To the next generation, Kaedan, Jacob, Kobe, Chace, Austyn, Jaden, Samuel, Owen and Shay, grampa has left special memories to each one of you. Fred's extended family included forty-one nieces and nephews and their families. Fred bought the farm at Vanguard SK in 1955 and in 1957 Fred and his brother Alfred started "Gader Bros" which they sold Cockshutt Farm equipment and Texaco Fuels. In 1973 Fred and Faye moved to Swift Current. Faye passed away on December 4, 2017 and son, Carey, passed away August 22, 2013. Fred loved to watch sports and his four TVs downstairs all next to each other could attest to that. His favourite teams were the Toronto Maple Leafs and Saskatchewan Roughriders. He travelled to the USA to watch baseball and football. Fred and Faye travelled to many placed throughout the USA and also went on cruises. Cards were a favourite and up to 3 days before he died, we were still playing cards with him. Fred lived at home his whole life and the last two days of his life were at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current SK. There are many memories that have been left with us, the farm and his willingness to do just about anything so long as it was with his family. Fred is survived by his children, Gary, Diana, Lori and Larry and their families. He is also survived by his sister, Hifa Wilatt, sister-in-law Lila Gader and brother-in-law Hamed Juma. Pallbearers were Larry Gader, Cara Gader-Watkins, Camey Gader-Hryhor, Garet Gader, Lyndon Sayers and Richelle Pattison. A private service was held at Warren's Funeral Chapel on September 3, 2021. A Celebration of Life for Fred is planned for a later date. Donations in memory of Fred may be made to Myotonic Dystrophy of Canada, P.O. Box 29025, Saskatoon SK S7N 4Y2.
