Frances Dirkzwager

Frances Dirkzwager passed away March 19, 2025 in Swift Current.  A private family service will be held on March 29, 2025.

Frances is survived by her children:  Beth Harris, Bonnie (Tim) Lingenfelter, Brenda (Dennis) Eben; Brother:  Arthur Friesen;  grandchildren:  Candace Dirkzwager, Christopher Harris (Lindsay), Shawn (Tara) Lingenfelter,  Stacy (Chelsie) Lingenfelter, Trevor Lingenfelter, Justin (Sarah) Eben, Jessy (Dallas) Kirkpatrick; great-grandchildren:  Brennan, Cody, Alex, Carson, Anthony, Seth, Ryden, Mason, Chloe, Grace, Pheonix, Blake, Tucker, Gabriel, Dominic, Wilder, Paris, Wells.

She was predeceased by her husband Bert in 2021,  Mother Elizabeth Friesen, Brother Larry Fresien and Sister Jean Aldag.

Frances was born in Swift Current on January 24, 1944.  She remained in Swift Current her entire life.  On September 23, 1961, she married Bert Dirkzwager.  She worked at the Cypress Regional Hospital in different departments until becoming a Cardiology Technician, which she did for 35 years while raising her family.  She retired in 2008.

She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and doing Diamond dotz.  She had so many wonderful years at their cabin; fishing, having fish fries, visiting with her family, and the wonder of 18 great-grandchildren.

Donations can be made in Frances’s memory to the Swift Current SPCA, Canadian Cancer Society, and Clover House in Swift Current.
