It is with broken hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Floyd Olsen of Swift Current, SK. Floyd passed away on October 25th, 2020 at the age of 67 after a hard fought battle with Glioblastoma. Floyd was a caring compassionate man who was a mentor for many people. Floyd loved to spend his time outdoors. In the spring and summer time you could often find him on a fishing boat, at the lake, playing golf or sitting outside basking in the sunshine. Floyd always loved his fishing trips with friends and family to Tinkers Lodge in Nothern Sask, Queen Charlotte Islands and Kitimat BC. The fall and winter months were full of hunting, ice fishing, watching the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Swift Current Broncos play. And his love for travel took him to many warm places. He loved to play crib, skipbo and dice with family and friends. After retiring in 2016 from over 45 years in the construction field, and most recently with Remington Land Development, Floyd and Heather planned to travel the world. Floyd was a devoted partner, loving father, the proudest grandpa in the world, and a friend to many. He will be deeply missed. Floyd was predeceased by: his parents, John and Marion Olsen; his siblings: Laura Greer, John Olsen (Jack), Knute Olsen, and Lloyd Olsen. He is survived by: his partner, Heather Wiebe; children: CJ Olsen (Laurie), Carrie O'Reilly (Craig); his step-children, Nicki Barber (Andre), Kalin Wiebe (Brittany), Mitchell Wiebe (Braydon); his grandchildren: Luka and Charlee, Griffin and Ryder; his step-grandchildren: Maddex and Khloe, Addison; and his siblings: Carmen Olsen (Faye) and Linda Chappell; brother-in-law Ivor Greer; sister-in-law, Terri Olsen; along with a long list of extended family members, who Floyd not only considered family, but friends as well.
